Annual Juried Michigan All-Media Competition

Sixty Michigan artists representing over 30 cities from throughout the state were chosen to display their artwork in the Shiawassee Arts Council's 14th Annual Juried All-Media Art Competition. The show began July 24 and runs through September 2 at the Shiawassee Arts Center in Owosso. 248 pieces were judged and seventy-two accepted by the juror, Margaret Davis, professional artist and Professor of Art at Eastern Michigan University. $2,000 in prize money, a purchase award and honorable mentions were presented at the opening reception and awards ceremony Sunday, July 29, 1-3pm. Music was provided by Lynn Webster and Tom Perkin and refreshments were offered.

The purpose of this competition is to recognize achievement among Michigan artists in all media and to bring the work together in an outstanding annual juried exhibition. Most of the artwork on display is available for purchase. The Shiawassee Arts Center is located at 206 Curwood Castle Drive and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5pm and Sunday, 1-5pm and also offers a specialty Gift Shop.
